To succeed, Wessex TREC needs its members to contribute to the planning, organisation and running of events. Riders can often help at competitions by stewarding, judging and similar roles, as well as competing; and at 3-phase competitions, we often need the help of relatives and friends too. Here are just a few suggestions of how else you can help:
- Transport equipment and obstacles
- Provide venue (or suggest possible venues)
- Organise, with the committees help, TREC events
- First Aider (FA at work or equestrian-specific)
- Excel literate – for helping with scoring
- Provide judges’ lunches at competitions
- Vet or vet nurse or BHS welfare officer – able to do fitness checks
- Provide catering/refreshments at competitions
- Deliver relevant training
