Those of us who attended the AGM and Social at South Cerney Golf Club on 27th October enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch prepared by Claire Booth Cooks (a regular Wessex Trec caterer) followed by an inspiring talk from Maggie Pattinson from On The Hoof Distance Training about her experiences as coach and trainer for the Mongol Derby (a race across 1000km of Mongolian Steppe which draws riders from across the world) – we wait to see which one of our intrepid members takes up the challenge!
At the meeting, the chair, Helen Curley, thanked all the committee as well as our organisers and volunteers for their hard work thoughout the year. Four committee members, Phoebe Parsons, Caitlin Kretzschmar-Bunce, Annie Kingston and Zara Lawlor – stood down; six remaining committee members – Yvonne Allen, Helen Curley, Sue Giddings, Fran Huckle, Caroline Pederick and Jan Tucker were re-elected along with four new volunteers: Sally Ashwin, Adele Berkin, Maddy Crew and Nadine Pinchin.
