Welcome to Wessex TREC

When the British Horse Society withdrew from TREC in September 2014, those who had been running TREC events in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire decided to set up a new club affiliated to the new governing body, TREC GB.

Wessex TREC was formed at the inaugural meeting at Down Ampney village hall on 27th September 2014. TREC GB officially recognised us as a club on 1st October 2014. Lois Eyre was elected Chair as it was she who had done all the work towards this and original committee members were Lois, Zara Lawlors, Judith Morris, Caroline Harwood, Janet Keeley and Mark Lambourne, who set up and administered our Facebook page. We started with 18 members and now have 83, only two and a half years later. We also have 377 Facebook members.

Wessex TREC was formed to fill in the gap that existed in this general area regarding TREC. We exist to provide local TREC events, both Summer and Winter series, training and fun events. All the official events provide points towards Summer and Winter championship leagues with TREC GB.

The Wessex TREC Club mascot is the Wessex Wyvern, nicknamed Alfred. He is depicted in the picture above, expertly modelled by Caroline and Iona at Wickstead.
