Map Club – Central region

The second of a series of evening events across our region to socialise and practice our map-reading skills over a pub meal at the Highwayman Inn, on the A417 near Cirencester (GL53 9PH) from 7-10pm

Come along and practice your map drawing skills, learn new things, and meet Treccie friends. It’s so much better to see scary maps and twiddly bits in a nice warm pub with other Treccies around to discuss it with than it is to be surprised by an unexpected question in a map room! Map Club is suitable for TREC riders of all levels.
At the December Map Club Kirsty will be bringing along examples of ‘unexpected map sections’ so that you need never be taken by surprise again! Those of you who went to Cherhill Summer TREC will have discovered that even Level 2s can occasionally be presented with a surprising map scenario, so Cherhill will be the map to bring if you competed there, and if you didn’t copies will be provided.
Also bring along your pens, head lamps, glasses and magnifiers, and any other things you might use in a map room.
For those wanting to eat, please message Helen Curley with your choices by 8th December at the vey latest please. It’s Christmas, so feel free to order everything off the menu! But if you are limiting things for any reason, it is also perfectly acceptable to order just a pudding and coffee!
Remember, the first rule of Map Club is ‘we don’t talk about Map Club.’ The second rule of Map Club is……..well, you will have to come along to find out! 🤣🤣 (It’s a rule worth knowing! 😉)
